Maweena Road

Northeast Tasmania, Tasmania

Length
1.4 km
Typical time
0.1 hours

Maweena Road is a short but rewarding forest track that winds through dense temperate rainforest in the foothills east of Launceston. The track features muddy sections and narrow passages between towering tree ferns and eucalyptus, with occasional rocky outcrops requiring careful wheel placement. Despite its brief length, the track offers a genuine taste of Tasmania's lush forest environment with challenging terrain that can become treacherous in wet conditions.

Track becomes extremely slippery and muddy during winter months and after heavy rain, making progress difficult even for experienced drivers.
