The track offers glimpses of the region's unique alpine-transition vegetation while providing access to remote firefighting zones. Expect firm gravel surfaces with some muddy sections during wet weather and beautiful mountain forest scenery throughout.

Track can become slippery and develop deep mud sections during Tasmania's wet winter months from June to August.
